Wonders of Puppetry

A showcase of Puppetry and multi-media performance is being held in the Drama Studio at Buxton Community School on Saturday from 2pm-5pm.
It celebrates the incorporation of Funny Wonders as a Community Interest Company.
This follows several very successful years as a voluntary organisation and spokesman Neil Scowcroft said: “This demonstrates our ambitions in the world of puppetry.”
The afternoon will include a short, work in progress, a presentation of the youth-led production ‘The Owl and the Pussycat,’ an exhibition of photos and film including Funny Wonders adventure to Sapporo, Japan in 2007 and a puppet-making workshop.
Appearing too is Japanese puppet-master Nori Sawa and his enchanting puppetry.
There is also a chance to meet Children’s ITV’s Bookaboo puppeteer Marcus Clark who also worked with world famous puppeteer Jim Henderson.
The Showcase will launch – The Funny Wonders Puppet Theatre School, dedicated to encouraging people of all ages and abilities to participate in Puppetry and Multi-media activities.
